Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), originally passed in 1965, was reauthorized and renamed in 2002 as the No Child Left Behind Act. Now referred to as ESEA again, the legislation funds K-12 education in the states and emphasizes equal access to education, high standards and accountability. NASDCTEc would like to see an increased focus on linking academics to technical content in a reauthorized bill. The law was due for reauthorization in 2007.
